With sponsorship from Justice Initiatives Facilitation Fund, CISDOMA carried out the project Strengthening the capacity of local Women’s Union and legal support for ethnic minority women in Quang Binh district, Ha Giang province. Spanning over 13 months from October 2012 to October 2013, the 22,697 US$ project was aimed at further enhancing support of the Women’s Union of Quang Binh district (Ha Giang province) in providing legal support for women and ethnic minorities. To achieve this, CISDOMA carried out the following activities:
- Organized meetings for local legal support clubs to discuss and enhance knowledge about the Gender Equality Law, the Prevention of Domestic Violence Law, the Birth of Children Right;
- Trained the executive boards of local legal support clubs on operating skills and fundraising skills;
- Helped minority women in Quang Binh district to access legal information, gain self-confidence, and understand many issues such as child birth, gender equality, prevention of domestic violence, marriage; and
- Ensured timely birth registration for local children born in 2012.
