The activity “Training on Project Proposal Development” is part of the activities under the project “Youth Engagement in Addressing Gender Stereotypes and Promoting Gender Equality in Vietnam.”. In preparation for the sponsorship of the “Youth Initiative” at five partner universities in three cities, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, which includes Hanoi University, the University of Da Nang, the Vietnam Women’s Academy, the Academy of Journalism and Communication, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University, CISDOMA, and OXFAM, organized training sessions to enhance the capacity of students. A total of 212 students and lecturers from these five universities participated in the training sessions from November 2021 to January 2022. The content of the training sessions focused on providing students with knowledge on project proposal development and fundraising.

Participating in the evaluation of the quality of the training sessions were 125 students, of whom 84.8% were female students and 15.2% were male students.

Regarding the quality of the lectures, materials, and knowledge acquired during the training sessions, 60% of students reported that most of their questions were addressed and their expectations were met. The remaining 20% of students stated that the explanations provided by Mr. Ninh during the training sessions resolved all of their concerns.

At the University of Da Nang

51% of participating students reported that they had a basic knowledge of “Project Management Cycle & Project Proposal Development” prior to the training. However, through the training, they felt that they gained more specific and extensive knowledge. 100% of the students stated that they would be able to apply this knowledge in the future in general and specifically in the sponsorship activities of the “Youth Initiative”.

Additionally, students also highly appreciated the expertise of the instructor. 61.60% rated the instructor’s expertise at the maximum level of 5/5. The teaching methods used along with the attitude of the trainer were also rated 5/5 by 70.4% of students.
