The Green Annamites Project supported Vietnam’s transition to a climate-smart, low-emission, and sustainable development approach to protect people, landscapes, and biodiversity in Quang Nam (QN) and Thua Thien Hue (TTH) provinces. The overall goal of the project was to support the transition to a climate-smart, low-emission, and sustainable development approach that protects people, landscapes, and biodiversity in Central Vietnam. To achieve this goal, the project promoted the adoption of low-emission land-use measures, enhanced biodiversity conservation, and strengthened the capacity of vulnerable communities; the project primarily operated in Quang Nam and Thua Thien Hue provinces.
CISDOMA’s experts provided consulting services for this project in the activity “Capacity Building for State Agency Officials and for Vulnerable Communities” in Thua Thien Hue province.
Objectives
- Providing fundamental knowledge about climate change and the impacts of climate change in Thua Thien Hue;
- Enhancing strategies for mainstreaming climate change adaptation into the activities of government and social agencies at all levels;
- Providing fundamental knowledge about adaptive livelihoods and Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA), especially in coastal wetland areas.
Activities Implemented
- Designing the training program and materials.
- Conducting 02 training sessions in Hue with 48 participants, including representatives from the Provincial People’s Committee, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Transport, Department of Education and Training, Department of Health, related public service units and offices; and leaders and officials from 5 target districts (Phu Vang, Huong Tra, Phu Loc, Nam Dong, A Luoi, Phong Dien).
