From April 12th to 14th 2017, The Consultative Institute for Socio-Economic Development of Rural and Mountainous Areas (CISDOMA) organized the training in the land right of women. It is one of the activities in the project “Securing the land rights of women in ethnic minorities through legal support”, which is funded by Mekong Region Land Governance (MRLG).
There were 21 participants from the project’s core team attending the training. They are the officers of the State Legal Aid Center-a body of Department of Justice, Lawyers Association, Women’s Union, Farmers’ Union of Hoa Binh province and Bureau of Justice, Women’s Union and Farmers’ Union of Da Bac and Kim Boi districts, where the project is implemented.
During the training, with the learners-centered method, focusing on group discussion about the practical cases, both the trainer and trainees were engaged and actively exchanged the first-hand knowledge and understanding in the land right of women which is expressed through the legal documents. In addition, the learners were equipped with some of the adult-training methods.
After the training, all of the participants shared the idea that they would apply the training’s knowledge not only in the project’s activities but also in the land governance and promoting the women rights. They are going to be involved in the legal support activities in combination with communication in the women’s land rights at the local areas. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Anh, an officer of Kim Boi district Women’s Union-a trainee shared:
“I personally suppose that this training is essential. The thematic focuses are easy to understand and the training methods are scientific and efficient, which encourages the learners to be active in learning and obtaining the new knowledge. I will apply what I have learnt during this training in my future work, including training, communication, particularly in promoting the women rights.”
