Oxfam in Vietnam (OiVN) implemented the “Vietnamese Agricultural Investments in the Mekong Sub-region” (Phase II) project from 2017 to 2018. With the goal of “Private and public agricultural investments in the Mekong Sub-region respect the land rights of women, men, and communities,” the project aimed to improve the implementation of policies by Vietnamese investors in fulfilling their social responsibilities towards communities affected by their investment projects in Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

CISDOMA’s experts provided consulting services to organize 02 training courses on knowledge and skills regarding the community engagement approach for representatives of relevant businesses and communities in Laos and Cambodia.

Objective: Employees of the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) and representatives of the communities where these enterprises are investing in Laos and Cambodia are equipped with enhanced knowledge and skills for effective community engagement.

Timeframe: September – October 2018

Activities Implemented:

  • Designing the training programs and materials.
  • Conducting 02 training sessions in Pakse (Laos) and Siem Reap (Cambodia) for 58 representatives of businesses, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and community leaders.
  • Training of Trainers (ToT) for NGOs in Cambodia on designing training programs for business officers and community representatives.
