On the 14th of October 2016, a workshop was organized in Hanoi to launch the project “Citizen Monitoring of Land Governance in Vietnam”. The project is funded by Mekong Region Land Governance, with Oxfam as coordinator of the implementation of the project and participation of member organizations in the LANDA and FORLAND networks. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to ensuring effective land management, land use, and decrease in land-related disputes and conflicts in Vietnam.
The Consultative Institute for Socio-Economic Development of Rural and Mountainous Areas (CISDOMA) participates in the project as a unit in charge of technical issues, including constructing a guiding framework for citizen monitoring of land governance and providing support for participants in the three models piloted by the project. At the launching workshop, CISDOMA representative presented on the basic content of the framework for citizens to implement their right to participate in land governance administration in Vietnam. To pilot the 3 models developed as part of the project, CISDOMA will also coordinate closely with Oxfam and other member organizations in the LANDA and FORLAND networks during the implementation of the project.
