The Gender Responsive Equitable Agriculture and Tourism (GREAT) Program, funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), is a flagship initiative of the Aid program aimed at socio-economic development for women in Northwest Vietnam. The program intends to enhance women’s participation in the economy and decision-making by increasing their access to markets and more effective participation in the agriculture and tourism value chains in ethnic minority regions of Northwest Vietnam.
CISDOMA provided consultancy services for the GREAT project on the Community, Socio-cultural, and Gender Assessment.
Timeframe: From January to June 2018
Purpose:
- Designing the framework for status research and identifying strategic inputs for the project’s Inception phase;
- Conducting quantitative data collection for power and gender analysis in 9 communes across 7 districts in Son La and Lao Cai provinces;
- Analyzing data and writing up results as required;
- Presenting results and recommendations, providing input for the development of the provincial-level project strategy, the monitoring and evaluation plan, and the program’s theory of change framework.
