Oxfam in Vietnam (OiVN) is implementing the project “Vietnamese Overseas Foreign Direct Agricultural Investment in the Mekong Sub-Region (Phase II)” in 2017 – 2018. With the objective of “Private and state-linked agricultural investment from Vietnam to the Mekong sub-region respects the land rights of women, men and communities”, the project works toward enhancing Vietnamese investors’ policies and practices on fulfilling their social responsibilities with communities affected by their investment in Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.
CISDOMA experts provided consultancy services to organize 02 training courses on knowledge and skills on community engagement for representatives of the companies and surrounding communities in Laos and Cambodia.
Objective:
Key staff of Vietnam Rubber Group and Daklak Rubber Company and representatives of communities where these companies are investing in Laos and Cambodia will improve knowledge and skills for effective community engagement.
Timing: September – October 2018
Activities carried out
- Design training program and training materials,
- Conduct 02 trainings in Pakse (Laos) and Siem Reap (Cambodia) for 58 representatives of companies, NGOs and communities’ leaders.
- Provide coaching for NGOs in Cambodia on designing of training program for companies’ staff and community representatives
