As part of the continued effort to promote accountability and transparency, from June 2009 to June 2010 CISDOMA carried out the World Bank-funded project Pilot model of community participation in the planning of public facilities at the local level in Trang Xa commune (Vo Nhai district, Thai Nguyen province), aiming at improving awareness and capacity of the community in the planning and spending of public fund for social welfare work at local level.
The 13-month project, which received a total fund of 13,669 US$, won the Vietnam Innovation Day (VID) 2009 contest themed “More accountability and transparency, less corruption.” VID received additional financial support from the Australian Agency for International Development, the Embassy of Canada, the Embassy of Denmark, the UK Department for International Development, the Embassy of Finland, The Switzerland Development Cooperation Agency.
