From February 21st to March 5th 2017, The Consultative Institute for Socio-Economic Development of Rural and Mountainous Areas (CISDOMA) coordinated the study visit for the group of officers from Ministry of Agriculture, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. The visit was to study the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and the sustainable agricultural production models in adaptation with climate change in Vietnam. The trip was funded by the AFC Consultants International.

During the study visit, the group had the in-depth discussions with Department of Crop Production-Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development at Hoa Binh, Can Tho and Quang Ninh provinces, Cuu Long Delta Rice Research Institute and the expert on SRI. In addition, the group paid visits to the agricultural production models such as the orange cultivation on sloping land at Cao Phong district, Hoa Binh province, the low emission rice production model in Can Tho, and the model combining aquaculture and responsible tourism in Quang Ninh, etc.
