In three months from October to December 2015, CISDOMA delivered consultancy service for Center for Development and Integration on participatory assessment on the impact of mining activities on the local communities in Trai Cau commune (Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province). By collecting information/feedbacks from the local communities and other different stakeholders of local mining industry, this assignment aimed at:
• Assessing the impact of mining activities onto the local environment and other social aspects of the local communities;
• Assessing the transparency and accountability of different stakeholders of local mining industry;
• Making recommendations towards a better local mining governance and other optimal solutions to minimize negative impact of mining activities on the local communities; and
• Policy advocacy for EITI (the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative).
